Goals

At the end of the training, you will be able to fulfill the role of surface technician in a healthcare environment who carries out, alone or under the control of a superior, the sequence of work necessary for cleaning, maintenance and disinfection of premises and surfaces (hospitals, rest homes and rest and care homes, institutes specializing in multiple disabilities).

Basic activities

  • Consult a “workstation” file
  • Install and supply your workstation
  • Make the choice and dosage of products
  • Carry out cleaning work on premises and surfaces, operating room, consulting room, patient room, corridors, etc.
  • Clean, maintain and store materials, equipment and premises
  • Sort and dispose of waste

Specific activities

  • Protect existing elements (electrical appliances, furniture, etc.)
  • Replace consumables
  • Perform an antiparasitic treatment
  • Rearrange the premises according to the initial layout
  • Ensure first level maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Manage inventory
  • Use specific equipment: scrubber, single brush, etc.

Programming

  • Start: October 13, 2025
  • End: February 13, 2026
  • Duration: 18 weeks

Conditions

Have as a professional project a job as a surface technician in the care and health sector (contact with sick, disabled, dementia people, etc.)

Have good time flexibility (5:45 a.m. to 9 p.m.), childcare solutions AND be available during the week, weekends and public holidays (schedule rotation)

Have good physical condition (be able to carry buckets, trash cans, move loads, stay standing for the duration of the service and climb on a ladder)

Mobility: being able to travel to the different hospital sites and be there from 5:45 a.m. (ideally have a B license and a car or scooter)

Be able to read and write French (basic level) allowing a good understanding of the instructions related to the function

Organization
Know how to calculate (perform the four fundamental operations) to carry out product dosages
Organization
Have the CEB OR pass the admission test
